Down South Airboat Tours
If you are looking for a one in lifetime experience in the Everglades, reserving yourself a spot on an airboat is a good start. Down South Airboat Tours offers an exhilarating, safe, and enjoyable tour, as you coast through the “river of grass” (as the locals call the Everglades). Shark Valley Bike Trail
A self-guided bicycle tour is a wonderful way to conduct your own Everglades ecotour. You can get some exercise on this wonderful Everglades bike trail while you move at your own chosen speed. The 15-mile paved road is ideal for any type of bicycle, and the road is flat and free of rough terrain. A typical ride takes between 2 and 3 hours, but usually involves many stops because there’s just so much to see.
For more than 50 years, Clyde Butcher has been creating exquisite black and white photographs of the untouched natural landscapes of North America that have been internationally recognized. Mr. Butcher was hooked on the unique landscape of the Everglades after taking a walk with Florida Native, Oscar Thompson. From this time on Butcher was inspired to capture the beauty in the everglades that he found so mysterious and primeval.
Open 7 days a week 10am-5:00pm
Many travelers don’t have tents or camping gear that they travel with and are looking for a different experience than a traditional hotel room. Adventure everglades tours offer Seminole Indian Chickees. These huts offer a great opportunity for large families and groups to set up their own ‘camp’. Enjoy coffee or cocktails from the deck and watch bird flocks flying overhead morning and night across the campground
If you want to try a more upscale evening accommodation but still want the everglades experience, try Glamping, which allows you to just ‘show up to the party’ for the most part. The tent and necessities are already set up when you arrive in the everglades. Options for catering are also available.
